Alice in Wonderland 2026

Location: Melbourne Youth Ballet Company Studios – 2 Lee St, Carlton North
Age Eligibility: Dancers aged 10–21 (Dancers must be aged 10 by the February 8th 2026)

About the Audition

We are seeking dedicated and classically trained ballet dancers to join MYBC’s 2026 season of Alice in Wonderland. Dancers will audition in front of a panel from the MYBC artistic team. All auditions will be conducted in a group-class format, with ballet classwork taught on the day. No solos or prepared variations are required.

Age Groups

• Junior (A) 10 - 11years

• Junior (B) 12–13 years

• Intermediate: 14–16 years

• Senior/Advanced: 17–21 years

Dancers must be aged 10 by the 8th of February 2026

Audition Attire

Females

• Solid colour leotard (no patterns or frills)

• Canvas Ballet flats & Pointe shoes (Intermediate & Senior)

• Hair neatly in a bun

• No skirts or no jewellery

Males

• Fitted leotard/top

• Black tights

• Ballet shoes

• Hair neatly styled away from the face

Requirements & Notes

• All dancers must demonstrate a strong base in classical ballet.

• Pointe work may be included for Intermediate and Senior dancers.

• Males may be asked to demonstrate jumps, turns, or basic partnering.

Call Backs

Some dancers may be asked to return later in the day for a callback at either 4:30pm or 5:30 pm. Please note that not receiving a callback does not mean you have not been selected.

Audition Results

All applicants will be notified via email within a week following the audition.
Successful dancers will be invited to join the Alice in Wonderland rehearsal intensive and performance season.
