Audition & Application

The MYBC Pathway Day Program is a selective weekly program for dancers who want to deepen their training while remaining enrolled at their academic school and continuing with their home ballet studio.

2027 program at a glance

  • Training day: Friday, 9:00 am–4:00 pm

  • Calendar: Aligned with Victorian school terms

  • Location: MYBC, 2 Lee Street, Carlton North

  • Entry: Application and audition

  • Age: 13–19 at the start of the program, as of 30 April

Who can apply

  • Dancers currently enrolled at a ballet school

  • A strong classical foundation; RAD Grade 5 or equivalent is an indicative minimum

  • Students ready for a full training day and agreed school catch-up arrangements

  • Home-studio acknowledgement and academic-school approval are required

Audition format

The audition includes classical ballet and contemporary class work, plus a prepared one-minute contemporary solo.

The panel considers foundation training, musicality, artistry, correction uptake, learning behaviour, potential and alignment with MYBC values.
