Audition registrations are now open for the Melbourne Youth Ballet Company’s production of Giselle Open for Juniors through to Pre-Professionals, both male and female aged 10 - 21. 

(Age as of July 14th 2024)

Dancers from across Victoria are welcome to represent their schools by auditioning in front of a MYBC team panel team for a place in the program.

Successful applicants will be notified via email.

Levels and Positions

Junior Positions (10 - 13yrs)

Junior Soloist & Corps de Ballet positions

Strong basic ballet technique required.

Intermediate Positions (14 - 16yrs)

Intermediate Soloist & Corps de Ballet positions

Strong basic ballet technique. Pointe work may be required but not compulsory

Advanced and Pre-Professional Positions (17 - 21yrs)

Senior Soloist, Principals & Corps de Ballet positions

Strong level technique.  

Females - pointe work will be required.

Males - technique (tours, turns, jumps, basic partnering) will be required.

All auditionees must have a good basic technique in classical ballet. 

Audition Attire

Girls - leotard, tights, ballet shoes, hair in a bun (no skirt or make-up needed)

Boys - White leotard or leotard top, black tights, black or white ballet shoes (white socks for white shoes) neat hair.
